This photo shows a woman outside a mud and tin house in a bushy compound manually fetching water from a bore hole. This means she has no access to clean drinking water, and therefore is at risk of contracting waterborne diseases. Since she is fetching the water manually it means she has no electricity to pump the water. Considering the housing structure and her current activity I think she can not afford. I can therefore conclude that she is economically challenged.

  1. Poverty in Africa is a big challenge. in fact, this woman is one of the lucky few with relatively clean water that she can access easily. in some regions people travel for several kilometers before they can get access to muddy, or otherwise polluted water. The policymakers however continue to pay only lip-service to the average citizens.

  2. Rose this woman could be very lucky to have this source of water. Clean is relative in many parts in our context, but sure, the danger of contacting waterborne diseases and falling in looms large. Some voice would help in educating her and like minded others.
